Assisted Zona Hatching (AZH)

Assisted zona hatching (AZH) is a procedure of assisted reproductive technology in which a small hole is made in the zona pellucida (retrieved egg from IVF), using micromanipulation, thereby facilitating zona hatching to occur. This can be done both mechanically or using a laser. It is thought to not only assist with the hatching process but also to improve implantation rates.
